Blackmagic Design DaVinci Resolve Insert Plugin

Please note, the Cinedeck plugin for DaVinci Resolve is not yet Apple Silicon native so if you are running an M series based Mac please perform these steps before opening Resolve:

Codecs Supported for Insert

ProRes (if generated as CBR or Padded including by Resolve)
XDCAM
DNxHD
DNxHR

Generating an Insertable ProRes (No plugin required)

To export an insertable ProRes in Resolve you do not need the plugin, you simply need to check the box for “Constant Bit Rate” when generating the ProRes out of Resolve

Insert Editing into a file from Da Vinci Resolve

The Resolve Plugin is meant for inserting into existing files. Supported file types include DNXHD, DNXHR and CBR (Padded) ProRes.

After setting in/out points in the timeline:

Select Deliver tab

2. Custom Export> Format = Cinedeck Insert Writer

Select insert setting requirements, Target file and add to render

3. The render task will appear in the Render Queue

4. Selecting Render All will start the insert edit into the chosen file.
