Identifying RS422 COM Ports by disabling and enabling USB controllers.

Identifying RS422 COM Ports by disabling and enabling USB controllers.

On some motherboards, the COM port address reporting is split between the Universal Serial Bus Controller menu item and the Ports (COM + LPT) menu item. This is mainly in certain early RX2 motherboards.

-Expand Universal Serial Bus Controllers. You should see 5 USB serial Converter devices.

-Right click and select disable device.

-The device will be disabled and one of the USB Serial Port will disappear. In the below picture, USB Serial Port(COM7) corresponds to USB Serial Converter A.

Once we match USB Serial Port(COM7) to USB Serial Converter A, we can enable the device again. Please repeat this process and record the corresponding USB Serial Port for all 5 USB Serial Converters.
