Rewrap
The rewrap node allows you to change the video wrapper (mov, mxf) without changing the codec. This is useful because, if you do not need to change the codec it is much faster than transcoding and since no frames are changed there's no need to run a new QC pass.
Use target directory to specify the directory where you want your rewrapped file written and in the name pattern field you can specify the new name for your rewrapped file. By default the new filename has _rewrap at the end but that can be removed if you’d like. For the name pattern you can either replace the file name entirely or if you want to append it you can simply add text after [filename]. So if your source file is named “Weekend_Performance” and you use the name pattern [filename]_2024, your rewrapped file will be named Weekend_Performance_2024.
For the wrapper, select your desired file type and whether you want the new file to be CBR or VBR. Note that to insert into the rewrapped file it must be CBR.
Lastly, for audio setup, if you choose “leave as source” your audio config from your source file will merely carry over into the rewrapped file. If you choose “import from,” you’ll want to click browse and go to the following directory:
C:\Program Files\Cinedeck\ConneX-(current version number)\audioPresets
In this folder you’ll find audio configuration files for discrete, interleaved, mono, stereo and 5.1 mix. Choose the audio config that you’d like your new file to have. Keep in mind that this will reconfigure the audio layout but it will not delete or reassign tracks. So for example if you have a file with 6 mono channels and you rewrap it to stereo, it will then have 3 stereo channels, each with two tracks.
