Installing ConneX

Installing ConneX

  1. Start with downloading and installing the latest version of ConneX. Find it in here.

  2. When you open the installer you may see a dialog that says “Microsoft Detender SmartScreen prevented an unrecognized app from starting. Running this app might put your PC at risk.”

This dialog appears because ConneX has not been submitted to Microsoft for malware analysis but the installer is safe and free of malware and viruses. To continue click “More info” and you should see a “Run Anyway” button appear next to “Don’t Run”.

Proceed through the installation

You will need admin privileges to install the current version of ConneX and, if not using an admin account in Windows you will see a dialog like the one below. Future versions of ConneX will make this easier, only requiring admin privileges on the first install, but not on most updates.

You will need an admin password if installing as a standard user
