File paths closer look
The path is the folder structure created or followed on each disk assigned to a recording. By default, the path template uses the same wildcards as the filename template to create a sensible folder structure:

A path can really be anything though and it’s entirely up to the user how complex the path needs to be.
We are fans of shallow folder hierarchies and informative file names, using the wildcards to automate meaningful data entry.
Preexisting paths may also be selected directly using the “Preset Path Override” feature, which opens the system file dialog to select the target folder directly.
