Scheduled Records

The record scheduler allows recordings on any input or group of inputs to be scheduled at any time in the future as single, daily and weekly events. Events may be edited up to 30 seconds before the current start time.

Input or Group: You can schedule a record on one or more channels across multiple servers using groups.

Preset: A preset can be loaded as part of a schedule (Note: Back to back records cannot load presets as there is a delay in re-initializing the server inputs)

Action: You can Schedule records or Segments. Record is used to start and stop records whereas Segment is used to create a new file/s at a specific time.

Interval: Use once or repeat. If once is selected you can specify a start and end date for your record. This is used for 24/7 multi-cam productions. If repeat is selected you can specify the frequency.

Start type: Date or Timecode. If date is selected the schedule will start based on the Client PC’s time/date. If you chose timecode the scheduled record will start based on the channel/s Record TC Trigger configured in the Timecode and Automation tab.

Scheduled Segment Records

Cinedeck have added the ability to schedule file segmentation for multi-cam productions.

This allows you to record multiple channels on multiple decks and have them all start on the same frame, simplifying your post workflows.

To use this feature you can schedule or manually start a record and have the schedule create your segments.

eg:

"1 to 4","Affiliate - CCBC ","MO, TU, WE, TH, FR","09:25:00:00","17:05:00:00",record,timecode,""
"1 to 4","","MO, TU, WE, TH, FR","09:30:00:00","",segment,timecode,""
"1 to 4","","MO, TU, WE, TH, FR","10:00:00:00","",segment,timecode,""
"1 to 4","","MO, TU, WE, TH, FR","10:30:00:00","",segment,timecode,""
"1 to 4","","MO, TU, WE, TH, FR","11:00:00:00","",segment,timecode,""

Record or Segment path/file name override

You can also specify specific file names/locations in the schedule. Different path\file names can be added for each record and encoder.

In the below example Ch1-4 will segment at 09:25:00:00 segment will be recorded to c:\segment\tests\segment1_%d_%M_%y_%T.mxf (segment1_day_month_year_time.mxf). Additional segment schedules can be added.

Things to keep in mind:

  • The segment file extension will need to match your encoder settings extension.

Creating and Importing Schedules

Schedules and segment schedules can be created on a spreadsheet or notepad and imported as a CSV.
