Additional Hardware: RS422, Timecode, Dante

RS422

At the most basic level, each Cinedeck channel has a bi-directional RS-422 port, accessible to devices such as those from DNF that typically run a BVW or SRW deck. Each Cinedeck channel can fully replace a traditional RS-422 controlled VTR, also for tasks such as Digital Cut from an Avid. In addition, Cinedeck channels can be controlled via VDCP over RS-422.

Third party RS-422 controllers include:

  • DNF ST100 and ST400

  • Controllers by JLCooper

  • Controllers by Lance Design

That same RS-422 port is reversible, allowing the Cinedeck to control an attached device such as a VTR using BVW or SRW commands.

Recommended RS422 card: Antona USB Multi Serial Interface Adapter - ANC-6204

Timecode

Cinedeck provide internally generated timecode, can accept embedded SDI timecode or external ā€˜LTCā€™ and display the data on screen and optionally burn the data into the video of selected files while recording the data with the incoming source. IRIG-B timecode is also supported.

For LTC or IRIG timecode support additional hardware is required.

Cinedeck recommend you install LTC cards in your CD2 when doing multi-cam/multi-server records.

The Cinedeck ZX/RX are supplied with the AEC-PCIe-41 (BNC,FULB) - LTC Reader Board with BNC option made by Adrienne Electronics.

Dante

Dante is available as an additional license.

The CD2 Dante license includes support for a virtual Dante Device, if your prefer a hardware solution or require redundancy for your Dante sources we support the Focusrite Pro RedNet PCIeR Host Card.
