Closed Captions Editor
Besides normal captions authoring and file creation tools, the CineXtools Closed Captions Editor Module enables:
The user to make edits to existing caption tracks without re-rendering or re-wrapping. (This is unique to CineXtools)
Up-conversion of legacy 608 captions to modern 708 CC with a simple rewrap
Duplication of one CC service to another (eg copy CC1 to CC3 or Service1 to Service 2 to use as the basis for a translation)
Adding captions to an existing file with a sidecar file such as SCC/MCC
Adding an empty caption track to an existing file
Stripping captions from an existing file
Exporting captions from an existing file to SCC or MCC
Conceptually, working with CineXtools is a little different from working with some other captioning tools. It’s assumed that any file opened in the editor will have a captions track. If you have a file that does not have a captions track and you don’t already have a sidecar CC file, you can simply rewrap the file with an empty captions track and add services, then build captions as you would normally.
If you need to create a file with 708 CC and all you have is an SCC file (608-only) you can rewrap the file to add an empty CC track, then load that SCC to eg 708/service1.
