Troubleshooting cineXsuite on Apple Silicon Chips

Please note that clients have seen issues such as corrupt frames when rewrapping and inserting into files in CineXtools on Apple Silicon Macs when running macOS Monterey. In our testing these issues no longer appear when using macOS Sonoma. If you are running macOS Monterey and experiencing these kinds of issues we suggest upgrading to macOS Ventura or Sonoma if possible.

Issue Description

Some users of cineXsuite software on Apple M series chip have reported problems when running the application in emulation mode. This issue primarily concerns compatibility and performance discrepancies across different systems.

Resolution Steps

  1. Ensure Rosetta Installation:

    • The first step is to confirm the installation of Rosetta, Apple's translation layer software that enables applications built for Intel-based Macs to run on Apple Silicon.

    • If Rosetta is not installed, users should install it to see if it resolves the issue.

    • Link for Rosetta here.

For further assistance or to report a new issue, please contact the cineXsuite support team.
