Instructions

In the Cinedeck client, open the input settings dialog and click on the Avid tab. Use the screenshot below as reference for setup:

The username and password should be for an Interplay user with read/write permissions.

URI should be interplay:// followed by your workgroup name, followed by the folder at the root of your interplay directory (not including the database name or media central production server name)

Workgroup name can be found under “site settings” in the “server hostname” settings as shown here:

Options are

  1. “Multi-res Proxy” - if you want to link to multiple resolutions of the same clip

  2. Edit While record - if you want to edit growing files in Media Composer

  3. Head frame = frame selected to use as the clip thumbnail

  • The default workgroup shown in Avid Interplay Access is AvidWG, but may not be in use.

  • The workgroup in use and that should be entered in the URI can be found by going to the Interplay server settings as shown above.

URL is the web services qualified hostname or ip address followed by the port number

The HTTP port of Interplay Services is 80, and HTTPS is 443, but it can possibly be something else if someone had a reason. To check your port follow this guide: https://avidtech.my.salesforce-sites.com/pkb/articles/en_US/How_To/How-to-change-Avid-Interplay-Webservices-connection-port

  • The shared storage workspace must be mounted with the ISIS/NEXIS client and have a drive letter.

  • There needs to be a workspace on the shared storage

  • You must be signed into the nexis as a user with read/write access to that workspace.

You can set your record destination to this workspace in the settings tabs for your primary and proxy encoder settings.

These are the only settings required on the Cinedeck side for proper operation with Media Central/Cloud UX.

If you are experiencing issues despite entering correct settings, first lines of inquiry are:

  • User permissions - ensure user has read/write access to the workspaces etc.

  • Media Indexer configuration.
